Procrastination is my worst enemy but I can't seem to confront it. However I am determined that I am going to overcome it and I will tackle the impending to-do list. Books 📚
Going with the coronation theme I picked up a 'royal' book written by Tina Brown called The Palace Papers. Great read and very interesting definitely recommend reading it. You can read my full review here- https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/5532189483?book_show_action=false
Opinion piece📰
On Thursday The Bank of England raised interest rates to 4.5%, the 12th consecutive increase in a row at a time when inflation is already at a high. I can understand why it is happening however reading that the Bank of England could have prevented this by acting quicker is another let down by The government and The Bank. But it is not all bad news as prices are supposed to start coming down.
After a court case Donald Tump was found liable for assaulting and defaming writer E. Jean Carroll. What is disturbing is Trump claiming this will not affect his running in the 2024 election, even claiming that it will help him to win. His derogatory and dehumanising language should be condemned yet it increases his popularity. Just like Andrew Tate, does this not say more about society?

Imran Khan's controversial arrest on Tuesday was deeply concerning and is worrying for the stability in Pakistan. The arrest was on charges of corruption (which he vehemently denies) but his arrest came because of his suspicions of his popularity. It was a politically motivated move which tried to cut his chances in running for the elections again. It is a shame that this happens when Pakistan is facing an economic crisis. Inflation is at a high where people cannot even afford the basics, with the flooding and the healthcare system it is sad that countries like the Middle East/Western countries have not come forward with assistance.

💭 My 3 am thoughts 🕒
What if you knew your death date? Would you spend your life/time in the same way or would you do it all differently?
Quote of the week ✏
'British racism... is more casual than its American coeval but more insidious, because its animating prejudice is class.' Taken from The Palace Papers by Tina Brown.
