Issue #13
Hi Page Turners,
Burntout, that is how I feel. This is not going to be a depressing and Debbie downer issue instead it is going to be a gratitude and reflective issue. Whilst I take the time out to reflect and be thankful for the many things I have, reply back to this email or comment below about what it is your greatful for and I will feature my favourite comment in next week's issue.
Books 📚
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC called Natalie from Josh Roberts a great thriller that was super fact paced and gripping. Here is my review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/5550080398
Be sure to support indie authors and if your interested by this book.
Opinion piece📰
The Colour Purple trailer has dropped and looks amazingly good.
Still yet to read anything by R. F. Kuang but that doesn't stop me placing it all on my tbr and reading articles about her I found this to be a great and thought provoking read. https://www.theguardian.com/books/2023/may/20/rebecca-f-kuang-who-has-the-right-to-tell-a-story-its-the-wrong-question-to-ask
Further reading 📑
The net migration is at an all time high. I just can't help but feel that the actions that are going to be taken may help the numbers to come down but is going to be harmful and potentially will put people's lives at risk for trying to enter illegally. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/uk-65669832
💭 My 3 am thoughts 🕒
Exam season is upon us. A very stressful time and in the nights when insomnia hits you I recommend podcasts/audio books or breathing practices.
