Hi Page Turners,
We are so close to summer I can feel it, in the air, in my bones in my optimistic self when I wake up and see the blue sky. Also the fact that it is the month of summer which is officially beginning soon. This week I have just really took some me time catching up with reading family and friends, we had our first bbq of the year and spending time with my nieces and nephew's oh and also binging The Real Housewives what can I say I live for trashy telly. Let me know what you got up to this week and whether you took some me time out because it is essential and quite frankly everyone needs to have a bit of 'me' time for sanity and your mental health. What do you do to switch of comment below or reply back to this email.
Books 📚
I finished reading Old Babes in the Wood by Margaret Atwood a collection of short stories. I could read anything of Atwoods because her writing just moves me beyond words. I didn't love all of the stories but the ones I did are my new favourites read my full review here: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/4885264157?book_show_action=false
Opinion piece📰
In China, Muslims tried to prevent the authorities to stop the removal of its dome and minarets of their mosque in aim to replace them with traditional Chinese culture. With the treatment of the Uighurs and now these I just question how far the Chinese authorities can get away these crimes and again how the other countries react to this in comparison to things that happen to countries in specific that are not of colour.
My thoughts and prayers are with the families and all those who are affected in the train crash in India. I hope the investigation provides answers and closure to all those who are affected and hopefully will learn how to prevent in the future.

So my 'me' time included binging YouTube videos from my watch later playlist and these are my top picks.
I love documenting, my father always encouraged me from a young age to keep a diary which I have on and of and since the pandemic I have taken it up again. Now documenting has become so much easier for us with the use of pictures and videos, voice notes etc memories are so precious and I am a massive advocate that we should all take it up. Especially diary/journaling. What are your views?
My next pick is this:
Such a wholesome video and I bet a lot of people will be able to relate. I know I definitely can. My summer consists of lots of reading but also a to-do list of trying/learning new things. This video has definitely inspired me to take up language learning. What are your top picks?
💭 My 3 am thoughts 🕒
Statistics have highlighted how the pandemic has multiple of things including children's education and mental health being the biggest. However what is the implication of this in the future when it comes to further education/jobs etc.
Quote of the week ✏
‘Successful revolutions are inevitably subject to corruption. Once power has been seized, those who have seized it want to hang on to it, by foul means or fouler.' Taken from Old Babes in the Wood by Margaret Atwood.
