Issue #31
Hi Page Turners,
Happy first of October! (Is that even a thing... I don't know ๐๐) to me this is the 'official' start of Autumn. The vibes and aesthetics really come alive. Today I have filled in my monthly to do list done the boring jobs around the house and pencilled in things in my diary. Sunday is a bit of a reset day for me... reply to this email or comment below on how you spent your day and one thing you are most looking forward to that's happening this week?
Books ๐
This week I picked up Gone With the Wind by Margaret Mitchell. I haven't picked up a classic in a while so I thought why not. I honestly really wanted to love but honestly it was clichรช, predictable kind of annoying-frustrating-i'm so over this kind of read. A review in progress. Make sure to look for my monthly wrap up of what I read in September on my blog...posting this week. Alongside I will be also posting something you WON'T want to miss so be sure to subscribe to my blog so you don't miss it!
Opinion piece๐ฐ
Khalil Gibran's books/poetry is on my TBR and it is on the top of my list because he is the writer of one of my favourite quotes and his such a popular celebrated writer so why would I not want to read his work.
It was interesting reading this article- https://daily.jstor.org/kahlil-gibran-godfather-of-the-new-age/ and finding that he is the third best-selling poet in history behind Shakespeare and Lao Tzu.
This video is such an excellent completion of how Journaling can change your life. It also includes prompts and different theories that challenge what you already know about journaling and how you can harness the skills you already have to ultimately change your life. A must watch.
Further reading ๐
It has been a really depressing week in the news. From a 16 year old girl who was stabbed in Croydon (raises the issue of knife crime yet again) to a senseless act of a 16 year old cutting down the Sycamore tree. Suella Bravermen's speech in the US was really just frustrating and what I thought was a pointless and not a well thought out initiative.
Chat GPT... https://www.wired.com/story/confessions-viral-ai-writer-chatgpt/ audible gasp... because yes I am talking AI again. This was a really interesting article a(lso because the founder this week has said he is taking a while to understand how it actually works and the growth it is growing). It described how working with AI will simultaneously fit into every day life, interesting read for sure.
๐ญ My 3 am thoughts ๐
Getting Wimbledon tickets is like trying to get Taylor Swift's Era's tour tickets...except I was able to get in...but now have to wait for November to actually buy them (seriously๐).
Quote of the week โ
'Happiness is enjoying the little things'.
I hope you have enjoyed reading, consider sharing and subscribing and I hope you enjoy next week's issue. ๐
