Issue #36
Hi Page Turners,
With the rise of anti-Semitic and Islamaphobic hate rising the war is continuing in Israel and Palestine. Israel attacked a refugee camp and the death toll in Palestine is 9000+. With Israel claiming these attack are in order to free the hostages the question remains at what cost?

Books 📚
Poetry is something I turn to when I want to shut out the world. So I have been making my way through book 1 of Rumi's The Masnavi and I have been loving it.
I am also just finishing a thriller called Next of Kin by Kia Abdullah which I am loving (review next week) and its really just a hit of an escapism. Let me know what you are reading below and your favourite poetry collections/poets etc.
Opinion piece 📰
In the Times Opinion this week, there was a really interesting article on the backlash American Muslims are receiving due to the war between Israel and Palestine and how it is bringing up memories from the last two decades.

This article details how the protests that took place in London (and across the world) demanding ceasefire and peace in Israel and Palestine was in fact 'indulging terrorism'. It is interesting that the writers rhetoric is to describe Muslims as using this protest as a way of inciting terrorism. When the opposite is in fact the truth, these protests are peaceful and not just for Muslims. It is all of those people who are caught up in the war including Israelis and the hostages. The writer instead of guessing and speculating what happens in these protests should go to these protests and speak to people their and then report on it.

💭 My 3 am thoughts 🕒
My niece asked me what is the difference between non-fiction and fiction and it took me back to when I was a child and actually had difficulty differentiating between the two. Didn't everyone think non-fiction was made up and fiction was real when in fact its the other way around! Comment below if you thought this too.
Quote of the week ✏
'There was the thing about grief: once the tears ceased, you were left with a hatred of everything.'
