Issue #40
Hi Page Turners,
It is the last month of the year. Wow what a year it has been. This week I am planning to reflect back on the highs and lows of the year. I am going to look back at my vision board and review my goals and update and set new goals for the new year. (More on this in a later Issue)
Comment below on some of the goals you set yourself this year that you achieved and what you are looking forward to in the new year and any goals you are setting yourself in 2024.
The truce came to an end with Israeli continuing their attacks on Palestine. With more Palestinians being imprisoned and arrested rather than being released it just questions the nature of the truce. How inhumane is pausing a war and then continuing and then justifying it.
More humanitarian aid is allowed into Palestine but donations still are the matter of life and death so please, please, please donate as much as you can with the link below.

Books 📚
Last week I finished The Survivors by Jane Harper. A slow burn thriller capturing a Home and Away (vibes) small town residents connected by a tragedy that happened but what happens when you confront the past and all those untouched wounds. This book was amazing and really gripping however I gave it 4* because of a rushed ending. You just have to read it! Read my full review here; https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/5999270129?book_show_action=false
I also finished Natives by Akala. A must read non-fiction detailing class, race and prejudices he and other face just because of race. An interesting and incredibly researched book that challenges what you already know.
Opinion piece 📰
With the new year approaching it brings new planners and diaries and stationary. Being guilty of being an over consumer myself this video brought me down to earth:
I suppose this also relates to books and clothing but we should be aware of our actions and be accountable and realistic by what we buy and how much of it.
Are streetlights excessive and expensive but what would the alternative be? This video explains how in Texas they use municipal lighting towers and instead of having them all along the street just have one individual one that lights it up for you. Genius!

I am obsessed with Jennifer Lawrence so this interview she did with Kylie Jenner was such a juicy read.
'There’s a learning lesson in everything, and I think that in a weird way, everything happens how it’s supposed to happen.'

The 41 people who were trapped underground in India have thankfully been saved. These accidents are just a bigger question mark into the governments attitude towards protection for these workers and using cheaper alternatives instead of investing in their safety.
💭 My 3 am thoughts 🕒
I am the 👑 queen of procrastinating or putting things of. An example reading November's Issues of these magazines in December. 😐😐😐
Any tips on how to tackle procrastination let me know by replaying back to this e-mail or commenting below.
Quote of the week ✏
'I was not born with an opinion of the world but it clearly seemed that the world had an opinion of people like me. I did not know what race and class supposedly were but the world taught me very quickly, and the irrational manifestations of its prejudices forced me to search for answers.' Taken from Natives by Akala
