Reading 📚
I finished a really thought-provoking and has changed my perspective type of book by Afua Hirsch. It is called Decolonising My Body and it is exploration and attempt at understanding how much of our ancestors shape our past/future and make us who we are today. Articles of interest 📰
The Post Office Scandal has shocked the world of betrayal and its extent of failures that led to hundreds of innocent and hard working people, family and friend destroyed over this. Inquiries has shown it is the biggest legal travesty. The recent dramatization on ITV has led to expose the human story behind what went down. Over 900 innocent Post Office branch managers, known as subpostmasters or subpostmistresses, were wrongly convicted of theft, false accounting, and fraud between 1999 and 2015. The employees lost their careers, while some ended up in prison, and several died by suicide. It hugely impacted them. It is going to be interesting to see how this is going to play out and will the victim's and their families finally get justice who will be found accountable for it.

Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has rejected the idea of creating a Palestinian state. It is disturbing to think that Netanyahu has the power to claim Palestine but more pressure should be put on Israel's PM to call for a two state solution as well as a permanent ceasefire. South Africa has made headway in calling Israel out for its genocide acts. Read more here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-68045247
Podcast 🎧
At the start of the week I was totally and utterly gripped by a podcast on BBC Sounds called 'People who Knew Me'. It is adapted from the novel of the same title by Kim Hooper and because of the podcast I went back to read the book. It questions your morality and if you put yourself in the same shoes what would you do. I did prefer the podcast over the book but you can find my full review of it here: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/6181369307
