Issue #45
Hi Page Turners,
Welcome to the first newsletter of the year. If you read my last newsletter you will know that the format of the newsletter is going to be changing. The content will stay the same but it will be presented differently (in my opinion better). I first came across this concept because Claudia Sulewski uses it and I thought it would fit my content of this newsletter really well. So, let's try it out.
Claudia uses the word 'RECAP' as an acronym to mean different things. For example, the 'R' can stand for reading as well as researching, the 'E' can stand for eating as well as enjoying and so on and so forth. I also like the word 'RECAP' as it fits the newsletters objective. To let 'you' the reader have a recap of what I have read, watched, listened to and other things over the week. As always I will do a monthly RECAP on my blog and you will get weekly RECAP's here. If your interested in subscribing or simply having a nosy at my blog the link is below. So without further ado let's get into the first RECAP! 😊😊
Reading 📚
This year for my reading goal I have set a goal of 100 book to be read by the end of the year. Last year I read 150 books so I think I have set myself a realistic goal. If you want live updates on the books I am reading and if I am staying on track friend me on Goodreads link below.
ICYMI: on my blog I posted my most anticipated post of the year my year in review books and also my top ten books of 2023. Read it here: https://fizwrites.wixsite.com/website/post/my-year-in-review-end-of-year-book-tag-my-2023-reading-wrap-up
I also did a wrap up for my December reads and the monthly update. Read it here- https://fizwrites.wixsite.com/website/post/the-books-i-read-in-december-2023
I also finished A Twisted Love Story by Samantha Downing which is twisted and gripping a read you should pick up if you love thrillers that include toxic relationships and great plot twists.
Exploring 🔍
One of my goals this year is to eat healthy and exercise but I don't want to just do any old diet and go back into old habits. Instead I am exploring and going back to basics educating myself on all things vitamins and nutrients and how addictive ultra-processed food is. I am tired of just eating junk and not caring about my body so I am changing this. I am listening and watching a lot of self help but I am not doing this passively but instead looking for ways to implement this into my routine and life. (Any tips, or recs for podcasts/books/exercise routines etc I would like to hear what your routine looks like and if you have been in my position I would like to know what worked/didn't work for you).
This video was a great watch-
Contemplating 💬
I came across this quote 'Learn to embrace chaos. Man Plans, and God Laughs' which I am trying to implement.
A round up of 📰
Last week saw Japan suffering from tsunami and also the plane catching fire in which five people died.
What has heavily been discussed is whether after the war will Palestine be able to reclaim their homes and land, with Israel continuing their attacks it doesn't look like this war is ending soon. The fact that the Israeli minister is outlining the plan for what happens to Gaza after the war says it all.

Pause 🌅
As part of my new routines the first thing I do is look outside, open my window and breath in the fresh air. I think it's a thing we take for granted and that pause before the beginning of the day is really humbling and grounds me but it is also scientifically good for you. What is part of your morning routine?
There we have it. The first RECAP! Next week you will have a different RECAP as I will choose different meanings to it. I hope you have enjoyed reading it and it really helps if you leave feedback and you can do so by replying to this email (to remain anonymous) or comment below. Let me know your RECAP's below and I hope you will look forward to next weeks issue. 💌
Instead of leaving a link to donate to Palestine (which you still can and please do) I am leaving a link which will allow you to educate yourself of Palestine history and keep you up to date with what's happening to date. Also links to donate amongst so much other things. Hugely recommend you go check it out. Link is below.
Thank you for reading! 😆
