Issue #7
Hi Page Turners,
This week has gone too quickly and because it is the last day of Ramadan I have just been really immersed in catching up with my Qur'an and other things. What have you all been up to? What have you been reading/doing? With the weather picking up slightly have you been out anywhere interesting? Let me know by replying to this email or by pressing the comment button. 😊
Books 📚
So...I finished A Day of Fallen Night by Samantha Shannon the prequel to The Priory and I thought it would take me a little while but um...I couldn't help but devour it. Check out my review here - https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/5453556193?book_show_action=false
Have you read either book or is it on your TBR? Let me know what you think of it whether you have read it or not!
Opinion piece📰

I read The Paper Palace last year and it made my favourite reads of the 2022 list because it was *that* book which you can't stop thinking about/absolutely obsessed with it. I came across the above article, talking about the ambiguous ending and it got me thinking about the book again and made me want to read it again. I also want to re-read it so I can make a better conclusion as to how it ended.

Have you read this book, what did you think of it in general and especially that ending?
Further reading 📑
https://www.vogue.com/article/karl-lagerfeld-tribute-may-2023-cover
I always love reading back stories of people who made it big but not just people who dedicate their whole life to a certain craft. I really loved and enjoyed reading the behind the scene of tributes to Karl Lagerfeld and each of the personal stories of the late Karl Lagerfeld.
💭 My 3 am thoughts 🕒
It is concerning how many children/adults go missing every day. I feel like there needs to be more coverage.
Quote of the week ✏
I have taken this week's quote of the week from A Day of Fallen Night (two of my faves from the book).
'In Hróth, they say the oldest stories have the deepest roots.'
'What is in this world, Dumai asked her, but a fleeting dream, from which we will all one day wake?'
Thank you so much for reading this week's issue. If you have got this far, I hope you have enjoyed reading, do consider sharing this issue. Hope you're looking forward to next week's newsletter!✉
