Hi Page Turners,
How has your week been? On Friday the skies were blue and there was a nice warm breeze in the air. There is something about the sky blue colour and looking at aeroplanes going past. (The romantic in me) my mom cut the grass and we did a spring clean of the shed it got me excited for summer because I am eagerly waiting for its arrival. This week has gone super quickly and I can't believe we have already passed the halfway point in the month of Ramadan. You can read about this more in detail on my blog. Books π
This week there aren't many updates on the book front. As it is Ramadan I tend to focus on reading The Qur'an mostly. I did start A Day of Fallen Night by Samantha Shannon the prequel to The Priory of the Orange Tree. I am absolutely devouring it much prefer it to the Priory but also because it is such a thick book it is allowing me to slow down and not go from one book to the other so fast. I created a post on my blog a follow-up to last year's- My Ramadan Reading Recommendations you can read the post here- https://fizwrites.wixsite.com/website/post/my-ramadan-recommendations
What books have you picked up this week? If you have read my Ramadan rec post have you read any of the books I listed or are you tempted to pick one or a few up?
Opinion pieceπ°
Hundreds of Palestinian worshippers inside Masjid Al-Aqsa were peacefully observing the holy month of Ramadan, Israeli forces physically assaulted and forcibly removed worshippers and it has happened every Ramadan that I can remember. Every time I hear this news it is like a punch to the gut and this year it sounds bad to say but I was almost waiting for the news because I knew it was going to happen.

In this article, Coco Khan writes how Smart tech is being abused by domestic abusers and women (no surprise there) are experiencing the worst of it. A harrowing but necessary read because we need to be aware of both the positives and the dangers/negatives of the ever-evolving technology.
