Hey Page Turners,
Sorry for the late post—April just flew by! I got swept up in a whirlwind of activity, mostly thanks to my sister’s wedding. And if you've ever experienced a South Asian wedding, you know it’s a full-blown celebration with a ton of occasions.
Amid the festivities I also fell really ill. I barely had a moment to catch my breath. As one of my favorite spring quotes reminds me,
> "Spring is nature's way of saying, 'Let's start anew!'"
Even though spring was upon us, I didn't find time for my usual spring re-set, so I'm making up for it now before summer truly settles in.
I didn’t read much during April, but I managed to enjoy some fabulous reads over March and April. (I read a total of 19 books across the two months)
Here’s a roundup of some of the memorable books that kept me company:
Hidden Fires by Sarish Hussain- review here- https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/7362632444
This Book Won't Burn by Samira Ahmed- https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/7382863473
Into the Dark by Fiona Cummins- https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/7388619865
A Series of Unfortunate Events (currently on the third book; my niece is absolutely in love with both the books and the Netflix adaptation)
Empowered by Vee- https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/4435680321
Iron Flame- https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/7411132257
Shiny Broken Pieces
Three Days in June- https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/7461957277
And I couldn’t resist binge-watching The Handmaid’s Tale in honor of series 6. I have to say, it’s one of the most gripping and thought-provoking shows out there. The way it combines raw emotional storytelling with a sharp critique of societal norms never fails to leave me in awe. In fact, I’m so inspired that I’m planning to re-read the book—it always feels like there’s something new to discover each time. I also will do some other posts about it.
Thanks for stopping by and catching up on my latest musings. I hope your spring has been just as eventful (or at least relaxing) as mine. Looking forward to more shared stories and a fresh re-set before the heat of summer takes over!
Here is to making every moment count and to the stories that continue to shape us, one page at a time!
I hope you enjoyed reading!
