Hi Page Turners,
I hope you have had a wonderful week and are enjoying your weekend. The clocks went forward last Sunday and I missed my extra hour in bed. Alas that is the way it is. It does mean longer lighter days and that makes me happy. This week Humza Yousaf won the race to succeed Nicola Sturgeon as SNP leader.

It is a historical win as he is Scotland’s first ethnic minority First Minister following UK’s first ethnic minority PM and that is reason enough to celebrate.

I mean my heart- how cute is this. Also if you want to see his speech link is here-
Of course being a leader comes with huge demands but I feel like with people already saying he is not up to the job or because he wasn’t as popular means he can’t deliver. Give the man a chance. I am excited for what is to come from him. Okay that is enough politics let’s talk books.
Books 📚
I am currently reading The Masnavi book 1 by Rumi, a poetry collection that has been on my tbr since forever so thought what better time than to pick it up in the month of Ramadan. I am loving it so far. I have posted my monthly wrap-up of the books I read in the month of March on my blog.
Which you can find here- https://fizwrites.wixsite.com/website/post/the-books-i-read-in-march-2023 if you want to have a snoop of what I have read during last month.
I am also currently reading the Qur’an of course for the month of Ramadan. What has been your favourite read of March and what is on your tbr for April?

The fact that The Guardian has links to the Slavery trade doesn’t surprise me but I do appreciate them acknowledging it and apologizing it and are doing things about it. Read the post for more information.
I have been following the Adnan Syed case every since I listened to the audiobook (review here- https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/4984713741) or you may have heard of it because of the podcast called Serial.
Here is the latest from his case- https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/4984713741
A timeline of what it is about- https://www.nytimes.com/article/adnan-syed-serial-timeline-serial.html
